Depression is described as a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and a general loss of interest in life.  It is a condition which affects a person’s thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviours.

Depression can also be reactive, a natural response triggered by a significant life event such as a bereavement , a loss of a relationship or job.

While the experience of depression is unique to each individual, some of the common symptoms can be feelings of overwhelm, poor concentration, erratic sleep patterns, inability to focus and feelings of worthlessness and/or hopelessness.
